I remember when Mike Quill went on television, and literally tore up an injunction against the NY Transit strike. He stated "the judge can drop dead in his black robes; we won't end the strike". Unfortunately, Mike Quill passed away right after the strike ended, because of the stress of going to jail, and leading the strike. He was a very shrewd labor leader.
