I remember the newspaper strike from December, 1962-April,1963. It was bitterly cold that winter, and the strikers were outside, in very inclement weather. In addition to the Long Island newspapers, there were a number of temporary newspapers, which came on the scene, to fill in for the regular ones. At that time, there was the NY Herald Tribune, The NY World Telegram and Sun, in addition to the NY Post, NY Times, and NY Daily News. Unfortunately, the Herald Tribune and the World Telegram went out of business in the1960's. I don't think that the Brooklyn Eagle was impacted by that strike, but I can't remember for sure.
