I wasn't attempting to compare yesterdays family doctors with today's. Just emphasizing that as much as we liked the doctors of the 40's and 50's they weren't really equipped to diagnose our ills, especially from the confines of our homes. They did, however, give a great sense of security and humanity when they came to our homes. Our doctor was Dr. Ginsburg. His office was on Legion St. near Riverdale Ave. and we loved him.
Today my wife and I have a slew of Doctors with different specialties at the Austin Diagnostic Clinic in Texas and as I said before they are responsible for my 81 years and my wife's 77 years. I don't think a GP coming to our home could have done it.
