To: Stan Field-You implied that yesterday's Doctors (especially family ones), were not on a par with today's Doctors. First of all, medical science and technology has changed tremendously, in the last two decades. Hence, it is impossible to quantify or even to compare the skills with our Doctors of yesterday, and the ones of today. Secondly, there were remarkable medical discoveries which took place many years ago, which saved millions of lives then, and continue to save lives now; namely, the Salk vaccine, produced by Dr. Jonas Salk in 1954, and the Sabin vaccine, produced by Dr. Albert Sabin a few years later. Both of those vaccines have (except in a few places) have eradicated polio from the face of the earth.
