Yeah Steve, I also remember the softball players out of that Bar. I would sit in the large 217 school yard as a kid and watch them bombard CI Avenue with long shots over the LF, LCF, and Center Field fences! There was a pet shop in the late 40's and early 50's on the same side across Foster from the 1030-believe that gave way to Classon Typewriters -which still exists further down the line on Coney Island Ave. Later on in the early 50's area between St.Rose of Lima and 217 became Runzi and the Ditmas Dukes' turf!
