Is anyone still around who remembers the parades from the late 30s thru the 50s ?THEY WERE MAGNIFICENT. Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, they all came to Eastern P`kway. I recall seeing veterans of the Spanish American war marching. I am not really old ,it`s just that I have a good memory. Nowadays it is WEST INDIANS who celebrate on the Pkway. If this year is like most others there will be 3 or more shootings of spectators. The neighborhood has changed.
