Many of the teachers at PS 167 were addressed as MISS.I recall Miss James and Miss Brennan, they were friends and like so many other ladies of the 1940s they had blue hair. i know several had sons but no husbands, but they were good parents. We had a Miss Pinkerton too , her son Arthur was in my graduating class. The last time I saw Arthur was at Sloan Kettering Hospital . My Barbara survived her mastectomy but Arthurs mom did not. Most of the teachers lived in the neighborhood we saw them often. I thought they were all nice people.
