The first place I ever bowled was at Elmwood Lanes on McDonald Ave near Elmwood Ave which is one block north of Avenue I. After the Leader Theater became a bowling alley I hung out there. Also went to Neptune Lanes in Sheepshead Bay because they were on TV a lot and had two special alleys that were black. In teen years also hung out at the Diplomat and Spinelli's.
