Being from Brooklyn is like a badge of honor, the distinction never leaves you. No matter where in the world we've traveled, from the Far East to the Arctic we've met ex-Brooklynites. Besides, it's absolutely amazing how many famous people, especially in the entertainment field, who were born in Brooklyn from the very sophisticated like Margaret Dumont and Edward Everett Horton to the like of the Three Stooges. Besides the ones of our generation, Brooklyn still has spawned many entertainers of today... Marisa Tomei, Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Jimmy Smits, Debra Messing, on and on. In fact, IMDB lists 3,531 Brooklyn-born entertainers. In the sports field, not only was Howard Cosell born in Brooklyn but so was Al Michaels who's still announcing sporting events. You can take the kid out of Broooklyn but you can't take Brooklyn out of the kid.
