When the Dodgers left Brooklyn in 1958, something in side of me died and I stopped following baseball. The Mets never held my interest, even in 1969 when they won the WS... big deal. When I moved to Massachusetts in 1970, a new neighbor took me to a Red Sox game and it was love at first sight. I knew nothing of the Sox since they're in the AL and the Dodgers were an NL team of course, but as soon as I walked into Fenway Park it was like being back in Ebbets Field... a tiny stadium, rabid fans, and every one of them hated the Yankees. I've been a Bosox fan ever since.

BTW, with guys on this Board named "Heshy the Goy" and "Jose Greenberg," I guess I've been away from Brooklyn a very long time.
