Ink Wells

Posted by Larry B./Crown Hts. on Saturday, February 6th 2010:

Does anyone remember ink wells on their desks while attending public school? My public school, P.S. 167, had them on the top of the desks mounted inside a small hole . I don't understand why they were never removed by the school. They never had ink in them and they were never used. I used to play with them by removing them from the hole in the desk. They were pretty heavy. I guess, back then, when my public school was built (early 1900's?), the students were probably using feather pens (like they used when they signed the Constitution) way back when. LOL
